Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect anonymous visit counts and nothing that identifies you. Our own privacy-friendly analytics records:

• the page you viewed;
• the website that sent you, reduced to its bare name (for example, a search engine), with no search terms or full links;
• whether you are on a phone or a computer;
• a random ID that lives in your browser's local storage and changes every day, so we can count visitors without counting the same person twice that day;
• that the calculator was used and that an Amazon link was clicked, with the size class of that link.

It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device and does not store your IP address. The calculator itself runs entirely in your browser; the items you add are not sent to us.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and keeps aggregate traffic statistics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Amazon affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Our links to Amazon carry our tracking tag, so Amazon can tell us that a purchase came from this site.

When you click one, you leave our site, and Amazon may set its own cookies and collect data under the Amazon privacy notice. Amazon reports sales to us in total; we never see your name, address or what you bought.

Analytics and advertising services

We do not use Google Analytics or show ads today. If we add either, we will update this page first. Google Analytics would be set to anonymize IP addresses, and Google AdSense would use cookies to show and measure ads, which can be personalized unless you opt out. Where the law requires it, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland would then be asked to choose (consent, do not consent, or manage options) before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, and you could opt out through Google Ads Settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. The only thing it stores in your browser is the daily random ID described above. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, or block it by turning off site storage or JavaScript.

If you email us

If you write to [email protected], we use your message and address only to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your email with anyone.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. Because our analytics is anonymous, we usually hold nothing that can be tied to you.

• GDPR (European Economic Area and United Kingdom): you have the rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
• CCPA (California), Do Not Sell or Share: we do not sell or share your personal information, and we have no personal information to sell, so there is nothing to opt out of. You still have the right to know, to delete and to not be discriminated against for asking.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them (COPPA). If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
